Position Overview 

The No on Initiative 2117 (I-2117) campaign is seeking an experienced and motivated campaign manager to lead a nationally significant campaign to defend Washington state’s leading edge climate policy. The campaign is supported by environmental, business, labor, tribal and other stakeholders. 

The campaign manager will be responsible for developing and executing a campaign plan, including fundraising, communications and organizing, as well as managing the campaign budget. The campaign manager will also be responsible for managing consultants and staff, a robust and diverse coalition, and ensuring the campaign is achieving its goals. This position will report to the campaign’s Executive Committee. 

This position will require campaign hours, including evening and weekends, and is based in Washington state. Travel around the state will be required, as will some limited out of state travel. The salary for this position is $9,000 - $12,000 per month, and will provide benefits including healthcare and paid sick leave. Additional incentives and benefits may be available. 

Qualifications 

Qualified candidates must be highly organized, able to multitask and manage multiple deadlines, and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

An ideal campaign manager candidate will have: 

◦ 1-2 cycles of statewide campaign experience. Field organizing experience and/or fundraising experience preferred, but not required. 

◦ Experience using NGP/VAN, ActBlue, and other campaign software (Google Suite, Mobilize, Every Action, Action Network, etc.). 

◦ Ability to build relationships quickly and manage a broad coalition. 

◦ Quick problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset. 

◦ A growth mindset and ability to take and implement feedback. 

◦ Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once and keep calm in stressful situations. 

◦ Management experience of large teams and/or numerous employees. 

◦ Demonstrated track record of effectively managing coalitions. 

◦ Willingness/eagerness to get creative and try new approaches and tactics to reach and connect with voters.

◦ Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Job Responsibilities 

◦ Manage and implement a campaign plan, including fundraising, communications and organizing plans. 

◦ Manage cash flow and the campaign budget. 

◦ Work with the consultants, staff, and the Executive Committee to achieve goals and meet deadlines. 

◦ Management of large teams and numerous employees. 

◦ Coalition management. 

◦ Ensure that campaign time is being used efficiently. 

◦ Any other campaign tasks as necessary.
